Legal-ish.
— What this isn't —
Make It Official is a parody platform. The friendship contracts produced through this service are not legally binding. They are not notarized. They are not recognized by any government, court, or arbitration body. They are recognized, emphatically, by us. Should you attempt to enforce one through real legal channels you will be politely escorted out of the room.
— What we keep —
We retain the email addresses you provide, the typed signatures you affix, the clauses you draft, and records of your payments. We use Supabase for storage and authentication. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for marketing purposes. Officials of this platform may inspect filings only as required to operate the service.
— Refunds —
The recording fee is a single flat charge paid by the petitioner and is final once the certificate has been issued. Pre-officiation issues — a duplicate filing, an erroneous bond name, a co-signer who declines before signing — may be addressed by contacting us at make.it.official.support@gmail.com.
— Misuse —
For co-signed filings, every signing party must consent by affixing a signature. For solo filings — where the petitioner files alone on behalf of represented parties who do not sign — the petitioner attests that the bond reflects a real relationship offered in good faith. Solo filings cannot be brought to public dispute; the represented parties never consented to the bond, so there is no counter-party to litigate against. Filings made to harass, defame, or impersonate any person are misuse, and on credible report we will revoke the certificate from the public registry. Forged signatures are likewise voided on contact.
— Don't sue your friends —
This is the most important clause. Please observe it.
